What does a full or partial denture fitting involve?
A partial denture is used when several teeth are missing and adjacent teeth do not provide firm enough support for a dental bridge to be fitted. This artificial denture consists of several artificial teeth, held in place by hooks that the dentist attaches to adjacent healthy teeth. It can be removed for cleaning as appropriate.
A full set of dentures is used when no natural teeth remain in the mouth. It is removable, and is held in place by means of suction. It is strongly recommended to consult a dentist, who will be able to make the correct adjustments to ensure that the denture is placed in the mouth in such a way that pain is avoided – depending on the type of denture chosen.
